The concert band layout is ready, add your musicians • Free
Placing your musicians takes a wider screen than a phone's. Send yourself the link to this page and open it on your computer or tablet.
Drag an item to move it, double-click it to rename it.
The tool above opens on a concert band layout: three curved rows in front of the conductor for the woodwinds, two straight rows at the back for brass and percussion. Add your musicians, run the automatic seating, fine-tune with drag and drop and print the chart. It is free and needs no sign-up, for a community band, a school band or a wind ensemble.
The automatic seating follows the most common practice. Every row can then be changed: number of seats, arc or straight line.
Clarinets on the left, then oboes, bassoons and flutes toward the right, fanned out across the first rows.
Saxophones, from lowest to highest, then the horns take the next row, between the woodwinds and the brass.
Flugelhorns, cornets, trumpets, trombones, baritones, euphoniums and tubas play toward the back of the stage, so they do not cover the woodwinds.
Percussion closes the chart at the back. Double bass and cello sit on the right, piano, harp and keyboards on the left.
A name and an instrument are enough. With an account, your ensemble's roster imports in one click.
Auto layout places each section according to your ensemble type. Then adjust with drag and drop, rows and chairs included.
A clean plan in A4 or A3 (Letter or Tabloid in North America), ready to print for the stage setup or to send to your musicians.
Guest mode is enough for a one-off plan. The free account pays off as soon as the plan comes back from one concert to the next.

Auto layout follows the conventions of each ensemble type. You start from a sound plan and adapt it to your venue.
Strings fan out in front of the conductor, from first violins to cellos, with the double basses on the right. Woodwinds sit in the center, brass behind them, percussion at the back.
Flutes, oboes and clarinets form an arc in the front row. Saxophones and horns sit in the middle, trumpets, trombones, euphoniums and tubas behind, percussion at the back. The same layout works for a marching band seated on stage.
Sopranos and altos in front, tenors and basses behind, so every section can hear itself. The accompanying piano sits at the front, on the left.
Three rows facing the audience: saxophones in front, trombones in the middle, trumpets at the back. Piano, guitar, bass and drums are grouped on the left.
The British square: solo cornets facing the euphoniums, trombones and basses on the second row, every seat with its named position.
Strings in an arc around the conductor. In a baroque setting, the continuo, harpsichord or organ, sits in the center, in front of the strings.
Woodwinds in front, saxophones and horns in the middle, brass behind and percussion at the back: that is the order the automatic seating follows. Add your musicians with their instrument, click “Auto layout”, then move anyone with drag and drop.
Yes. In the Rows tab, each row can be an arc, a straight line or a horseshoe, and you can set its seats, opening, depth and offset. To change everything at once, “Start from a layout” loads another layout, and the Undo button takes you back.
Yes, for a band seated on stage. Without woodwinds, the automatic seating puts saxophones and horns in front, brass behind and percussion at the back. For a British-style brass band, choose the brass band layout instead, set out in a square.
Yes. Stage items (riser, timpani, piano, drum kit, free text) go on the chart and move with drag and drop. They appear in the exported PDF.
