A platform created by and for orchestras

Sostenutoo was born from a concrete need: simplifying the daily management of amateur orchestras by centralizing all information in the right place!

Why "Sostenutoo"?

The musical origin of our name

Sostenuto is an Italian musical term that literally means "sustained". It is a direction frequently found on classical music scores, asking musicians to maintain notes with a full and continuous sound, without interruption.

When a composer writes sostenuto on a score, they ask performers to hold the sounds longer, to create a fluid and connected melodic line. It is an invitation to continuity, stability, and constant accompaniment.

This term resonates perfectly with our mission: to sustainably support amateur orchestras in their daily organization. Just as sostenuto in music maintains sonic coherence, Sostenutoo maintains the organizational coherence of your ensemble.

The double "o" in Sostenutoo symbolizes this idea of continuity and extension. A nod to our commitment: supporting you over time, rehearsal after rehearsal, season after season.

The answer to a common problem

These are the reasons that drove us to create a modern and intuitive solution.

At the end of every rehearsal, the same scenario repeated: sending an email to announce a program change. "Actually, next week, we won't be working on what was planned." One email, then another...

Musicians never had the right information, or it was scattered. The conductor received absences by text, email, or WhatsApp. Everything was dispersed. Nothing was centralized.

With Sostenutoo, this communication finally becomes clear and structured: an orchestra chat for daily exchanges and an Announcements space for official information (with the ability to pin messages).

When a new musician joined the orchestra, everything had to be resent: sheet music, schedule, program history. A repetitive and time-consuming task that prevented focusing on what matters most, the music. Discover member management →

The observation: Existing tools (Google Drive, WhatsApp, emails) are not designed for orchestras. A centralized, simple and accessible solution was missing.

From idea to platform

How it all began

At first, it was just a simple web page. A place where musicians could check the week's program, updated in real time. No complex features, just the essentials: knowing what we were going to work on.

Then came sheet music management. The orchestra board could no longer manage distributing the right sheet music to newcomers. Centralization became necessary. Discover secure storage →

Finally, absences. Between texts, emails, and voicemails, it was impossible to know who would be present or absent. A clear and accessible solution was needed.

This is also why the platform now integrates a chat and announcements: communication is part of an orchestra's daily life, so it makes sense to keep it in the same place as the program, sheet music, and calendar.

The turning point: "If I have these problems, other orchestras surely do too." That's when the project became a real platform, designed for all amateur orchestras.

Development approach

A platform built on the ground

Sostenutoo was developed with a pragmatic approach: Evolving the platform based on the concrete experience of orchestras to identify real problems and real solutions. No ivory-tower development, but real field usage.

The first user orchestras helped test features in real conditions. Their feedback is essential to evolve the platform and add the features that are truly missing.

The goal was never to create a complex tool with dozens of useless features but to focus on what matters: what truly simplifies the daily management of an orchestra.

Values and goals

Our mission

The long-term goal is simple: become the reference for orchestras and musical ensembles. Simplifying the lives of all formations, from small wind bands to large symphonic formations.

What sets Sostenutoo apart from other tools is its ability to precisely meet the needs of amateur orchestras by providing the necessary tools for managing orchestras, choirs and musical ensembles.

Simplicity

Intuitive interface, no complicated manual. Everything should be obvious from the first use.

Security

Your data is protected and secure. No public sharing, access controlled by orchestra.

Fair pricing

Prices kept as low as possible to make the platform accessible to as many people as possible. See our pricing →

The future of the project

A platform now available

The platform is now available to everyone. After a year of development and testing with early users, Sostenutoo is ready to support all musical ensembles who want to simplify their organization.

Every orchestra's feedback remains valuable and helps improve the platform continuously. The ambition is to create a tool that truly meets the needs of the field, not features imagined in isolation.

Sostenutoo continues to evolve thanks to its users' feedback. The goal remains the same: simplifying the lives of amateur orchestras, so they can focus on what matters most, making music. Create my free account →
