The big band layout is ready, add your musicians • Free
Placing your musicians takes a wider screen than a phone's. Send yourself the link to this page and open it on your computer or tablet.
Drag an item to move it, double-click it to rename it.
The tool above opens on a big band layout: saxophones in front, trombones then trumpets on risers, the rhythm section on the left. Add your musicians, run the automatic seating and print the chart for the gig or for the venue hosting you. Free, no sign-up.
The automatic seating follows the classic big band setup, three lines facing the audience. Every musician can then be moved with drag and drop.
Lead alto in the center, first tenor on its right, second alto and second tenor on its left, baritone at the end.
On a riser behind the saxophones: lead trombone in the center, bass trombone on the rhythm section side.
On a second riser, lead trumpet right behind lead trombone, so the section leaders can hear each other.
Piano, guitar, bass and drums are grouped on the left, with the drums closest to the horn sections.
A name and an instrument are enough. With an account, your ensemble's roster imports in one click.
Auto layout places each section according to your ensemble type. Then adjust with drag and drop, rows and chairs included.
A clean plan in A4 or A3 (Letter or Tabloid in North America), ready to print for the stage setup or to send to your musicians.
Guest mode is enough for a one-off plan. The free account pays off as soon as the plan comes back from one concert to the next.

Auto layout follows the conventions of each ensemble type. You start from a sound plan and adapt it to your venue.
Strings fan out in front of the conductor, from first violins to cellos, with the double basses on the right. Woodwinds sit in the center, brass behind them, percussion at the back.
Flutes, oboes and clarinets form an arc in the front row. Saxophones and horns sit in the middle, trumpets, trombones, euphoniums and tubas behind, percussion at the back. The same layout works for a marching band seated on stage.
Sopranos and altos in front, tenors and basses behind, so every section can hear itself. The accompanying piano sits at the front, on the left.
Three rows facing the audience: saxophones in front, trombones in the middle, trumpets at the back. Piano, guitar, bass and drums are grouped on the left.
The British square: solo cornets facing the euphoniums, trombones and basses on the second row, every seat with its named position.
Strings in an arc around the conductor. In a baroque setting, the continuo, harpsichord or organ, sits in the center, in front of the strings.
Three lines facing the audience, saxophones in front, trombones in the middle and trumpets at the back, with the rhythm section on one side: that is the layout the automatic seating follows. Write the part with the instrument (“Alto 1”, “Trumpet 2”) so each player takes their chair.
Yes. In the Rows tab, change the offset of the rhythm section's line, or move the musicians with drag and drop. Risers move and resize the same way.
Yes. A school jazz band or a small combo keeps the same logic: positions with no musician stay on the chart as open seats, which you can remove if you do not need them.
Yes. Risers, drum kit, piano and the other stage items appear in the PDF, in place, for the stage setup.
